Capital One Travel price dropped after you booked

If Capital One Travel told you to book now, its free price drop protection watches that flight for 10 days. When the 10 days end, it adds the biggest qualifying drop to your account as Capital One travel credit, up to $50. You don’t claim anything.

For a bigger drop, or one after those 10 days, ask Capital One Travel to reprice the same flights. Capital One Travel issued the ticket, so it makes the change, not the airline.

Steps checked against Capital One Travel’s own help pages on October 22, 2026.

The steps

Capital One Travel issued this ticket, so ask Capital One Travel to reprice the same flights. The difference comes back as a credit with the airline.

  1. 1
Check Capital One’s automatic credit firstIf Capital One Travel said “book now” when you booked, it watches the price for 10 days and adds the drop, up to $50, as Capital One travel credit after those 10 days. If you’re inside those 10 days and the drop is small, let that run; cancelling the flight can end it, and a change may too.
  2. 2
Reach Capital One TravelSign in to Capital One Travel, open My Trips and this flight, and choose Change Flight, or call 844-422-6922. Have your Capital One Travel code (it starts with H-) and the airline’s own code ready.
  3. 3
Ask for a repricing“The price of my flights went down. Please reprice my ticket to today’s lower fare on the exact same flights, same dates and same times. I don’t want to change anything. Please give me the difference as an airline credit.” Keep the flights; don’t cancel anything.
  4. 4
Check the creditIt shows in My Trips under Airline Travel Credit, in each traveler’s name.
What you get back

An airline credit for the difference, per passenger, for flights on the same airline.

If they push back, ask for a supervisor or try again later. Airlines charge no change fee on Main Cabin and above, and a ticket bought on Capital One Travel is changed through Capital One Travel.

Good to know

  • Capital One Travel’s terms allow it to charge its own change fee. Ask before the agent reissues the ticket.
  • The difference usually comes back as airline credit, not cash. Check the expiry date on it; most last about a year.
  • Repricing can lower the status credit you earn on this trip, because some airlines count what you paid.
  • Basic fares can’t be changed for a lower price, so Tuur doesn’t alert on them.

Price drop protection, in short

  • Free, and only on flights where the search said book now.
  • Watches the same itinerary for 10 days.
  • Pays the biggest drop, up to $50, as Capital One travel credit, not money back to your card. Those credits don’t expire.
  • Cancelling the flight can end it.

Found it cheaper within 24 hours?

Capital One Travel also matches a lower public price for the exact same itinerary found within 24 hours of booking. Claim it by phone at 844-422-6922; it is paid as travel credit.
